This totally fresh jacket was a welcomed thrill on a bitter cold Northeast Kingdom day! It is by Skunkfunk, a Spanish fashion brand specializing in sustainable stylish apparel. The stripes and unique silhouette stopped me in my tracks but the oversized collar is the pièce de résistance. Jenny Frutchy has been skiing her whole life and claims this to be her warmest jacket ever!

Fantastic vintage graphics from the 1976 women’s World Cup races in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. The 2013 edition of these races ran over the weekend. Congratulations to the winners: Lindsey Vonn, USA (Downhill) and Viktoria Rebensberg, Germany (Super G).
Press photo caption: The two coaches of the two most successful alpine ski-teams of the season: Toni Sailer (left), the Austrian-teamboss, and Adolf Ogi (right), coach of the Swiss team. They here are waiting for the arrivals of their proteges from the Lauberhorn downhill race. Ogi will be charmed: 1rst and 2nd place for him; Toni Sailer can count the 3rd up to the 8th place.
Forty years later, the 2013 Lauberhorn Super Combined, Downhill and Slalom races will run this weekend in Wengen, Switzerland.
In planning my upcoming trip to the 2013 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Schladming, Austria, I came across this fantastic logo promoting the host state of Styria. It is simple, clean and vital with a charming alpine feel that is both traditional and contemporary. (And it makes me want to buy logo’d souvenirs!)
