Jay Peak hosted the fourth and final stop on the 2013 Ski The East Freeride Tour. A two-day event, I was able to watch some of the women run on Saturday (and disappointed I could not make it back for the more “extreme” finals on Sunday). This was my first visit to one of these contests and I loved it – a positive feeling to the entire production and authentic freeride style inspiration everywhere. I was impressed by the relative range of ages and abilities – as well as female participation – and credit Ski The East with creating an inclusionary environment – such a great grassroots way to grow freeride exposure. I look forward to following the tour next winter. . .
The scene at the Upper Exhibition start on Saturday. Day two of competition to be a bit more intense in the Face Chutes under the tram.
A very nice green/ blue ensemble! Is it Flylow?
Girls of all ages ready to shred.
Mackenzie Young of St. Lawrence University, winner of the Magic Mountain tour stop.
