Burke is a ski racing hill. Lucky for me, I love all that goes along with that – including ski racing fashion. Spyder Julia Mancuso race suit featuring trail map graphics of Squaw Valley, her home mountain.

Chixngravy Snow Skirt
Today, I finally became the very happy owner of a SKHOOP down skirt! SKHOOP is based in Åre, which makes this yet another great piece of wearable snow gear from Sweden. I will live in this skirt in cold months — more for casual wear than skiing, and it will be so nice post-ride for autumn mountain biking. I am stoked on this new acquisition and expect it is just the first step in building a little quiver of cozy insulated skirts.
Earlier in the winter, I posted about SKHOOP and Houdini skirts. The latest skirt discovery: Chixngravy. I spotted this fuchsia-skirted snowboarder zipping through a lift line at the Planai in Schladming. Chixngravy is a trendy line of snow, street and swim wear designed by Simone Ober and based in Kitzbühel, Austria. The snow skirt was the item that launched the brand “trying to combine fashion and function with passion and humor”. The very cool tomboy-styled skirts with cargo pockets are offered with and without insulation, taped seams and a unique snow cuff system. I am adding Chixngravy to my Austria shopping list!

SKHOOP Down Skirt
Though I maintain mixed feelings about sport skirts in general, I have nothing but love for SKHOOP down skirts! (And this Bogner jacket with Western styling.)
Cool to see SKHOOP available locally at Village Sport Shop in Lyndonville, Vermont – this shop does a standout job with women’s gear.
