On the Snow: Lululemon & Jeckies
Lululemon What the Fluff Pullover as worn by Mt. Mansfield ski coach, Jordan Leach. This look totally stood out from the crowd at the 73rd annual Stowe Sugar Slalom as unique, flattering and totally refreshing. A perfect balance of pretty and tough in silhouette and details; and excellent integration of a non-snow brand.
Jordan is the founder and owner of Jeckies, a line of fashionable neck gaiters. Meeting her explained the sparkle and shine on the necks of seemingly every girl in the race. I am having trouble deciding which color Sparkle Jeckie to buy, so many options! See for yourself at JeckiesOnlineStore on Etsy.

Jean-Claude Killy Wins at Stowe, 1966
1966 AP WIREPHOTO: STOWE, VT., MARCH 19 — FLYING FRENCHMAN – Jean-Claude Killy of France leans into a high speed turn as he flashes down Mount Mansfield to win International Giant Slalom championships at Stowe, Vt., today. Killy, gasping for air, is “stepping up” or shifting weight from right to left ski for turn towards next gate to his left. Killy ran course of just under a mile in 1:45:67.
Ski racing runs deep in Stowe’s heritage and Mount Mansfield has a long history as host to international competitions. I would love to see World Cup racing someday return to Stowe.

Vintage Poster: Sascha Maurer, c.1950
From Swann Galleries: One of the earliest appearances of the famous Stowe “S,” a logo which Maurer designed and which is still ubiquitously used in the Vermont town through the present day.

When Denim for Snow is a Good Idea
Unconfirmed brand @ the US Open.

Spyder @ the Sugar Slalom, Stowe.
Vans x Seven Jeans @ Jiminy Peak, MA.
Technical ski/ snowboard pants with denim look. Impressive tromp l’oeil distressing of Burton pants. (As well, the best uniform BY FAR at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.) The Vans collaboration was successful in spot-on replicating Seven jeans fit.
